Clocinnamox mesylate

Description:
Clocinnamox mesylate is an opioid receptor antagonist that binds reversibly to the κ-opioid receptor. Clocinnamox mesylate has been shown to have antinociceptive effects in animal models, but it also shows sub-effective doses of locomotor activity. This drug also inhibits protein synthesis, which may be due to its ability to block the action of the κ-opioid receptor. The binding of clocinnamox mesylate to the κ-opioid receptor leads to a decrease in production of prostaglandins and nitric oxide and a decrease in pain signals from peripheral nerves.
