Isosteviol

Description:
Isosteviol is a natural compound that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against multiple cancer cell lines, including breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer cells. Isosteviol is a potent inhibitor of the mitochondrial membrane potential and causes apoptosis in neurons. It also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α and IL-6, by inhibiting toll-like receptor signaling pathways. This drug was shown to be effective in an experimental model for cerebral malaria. Isosteviol has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro by inhibiting transcription from the RNA polymerase II promoter region.
